Member Spotlight: Paul Murphy, Freelance Marketer
One of our first members, and a contender for the coveted El Cabello Primero (our free lifetime membership, which will be selected in January!), Paul Murphy’s professional background is in media and event marketing.
For the last 8 years, Paul was the Regional Marketing Director for Feld Entertainment, parent company to Disney On Ice, MonsterJam, Supercross and several other live entertainment touring properties. In this role, Paul managed a small team of promoters, marketing and promoting events across Washington, Oregon and Vancouver BC. Prior to Feld, Paul lived in Santa Monica, CA for 12 years and worked in various media/marketing roles, including CBS Radio and the Grammy Awards/Recording Academy. When COVID hit in March, the live events business shut down, so it was time to pivot to helping small businesses with their marketing efforts while also enrolling in a Digital Marketing Certificate course at UW.
Paul and his wife Brenda and both grew up in North Seattle and settled in Edmonds nine years ago, a block from Yost Park. They have three young children: Ella (7), James (4), and Ali (3). When he’s not chasing them around, you might find him out on his Stand Up Paddleboard near Brakett’s Landing or Marina Beach Park (pic attached).
As Paul says, “Workhorse HQ has been a fantastic way for me to work and study during the pandemic! Prior to finding Workhorse HQ, I was literally working at park benches and in parking lots around Edmonds. I really like the environment here and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, quiet place to work.”
