Member Spotlight: Marissa Pedersen of Postcards to Seattle

May 11, 2021

Sharing with you about our Workhorse members has been such a fun way for us to help you get to know each other, especially as we continue to gently navigate the pandemic and you’re not all meeting face to face.

Enter: Marissa Pedersen, a travel writer and social media influencer who first discovered her love for traveling after religiously watching Edmonds local Rick Steves’s shows and planning her first European vacation. Since then, she’s launched that passion into her full-time career with the website Postcards to Seattle, which focuses on Pacific Northwest travel tips, hiking tips, and national park guides. She loves sharing all her experiences with others and encouraging them to plan their own trip confidently.

When she’s not traveling, Marissa loves being outdoors with her husband, toddler, and baby-on-the-way. If she’s not on a hiking trail in the mountains, you can often find her at one of the beaches in Edmonds with her family. She loves exploring all the local restaurants in the city, particularly any with good seafood and beer. As a dual citizen of Ireland, she has a love for Churchkey Pub in particular.

Marissa enjoys being a member of Workhorse because, as someone who often works on the road, she knows how hard it is to find a quiet, comfortable place to work. However, working at home all day can also be challenging between trips, so it’s the perfect spot to get a change of scenery. She loves being surrounded by others who work online—the free coffee, kombucha, and beer don’t hurt either!

Marissa recently began launching her own products, which has always been a dream of hers. She has a Seattle travel guide published to make it easier for those who dream of visiting the area in the future. She’s also working on her first course launching in June and will teach both bloggers and businesses alike how to learn and benefit from SEO.
